Venue information
This fortress of near-perfect symmetry is an unfinished masterpiece. It was the last of the royal strongholds created by Edward I in Wales. Unfortunately lack of money and trouble brewing in Scotland meant building work petered out in the 1320s. The south gatehouse and the six great towers in the inner ward never reached their intended height. The Llanfaes gate was barely started before being abandoned. So the distinctive squat shape of Beaumaris tells of a dream that never quite came true. Gloriously incomplete Beaumaris is perhaps the supreme achievement of the greatest military architect of the age.

COVID-19 measures
We will be adhering to the most up to date government guidelines relating to outdoor theatre. Our tour is ‘See It Safely’ compliant, please click here for more information. More information regarding our Covid safety planning can be found here. We want to make your continued attendance at live theatre as safe as possible and as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

Relaxed performances
We believe that all of our performances can be considered as relaxed. The lights don’t go down (until the sun sets!), the performances take place in the open air where there is plenty of space for audience members and all are welcome. We believe that theatre should be as accessible as possible and will be happy to talk to you about how we can make it accessible for you. If you have specific questions regarding your attendance at one of our performances please do not hesitate to get in contact with us so that we can help to welcome you. Contact details are here.
