ADVANCE BOOKING HIGHLY RECOMMEND
A truly spectacular monument, Tintern Abbey was founded by Walter de Clare, Lord of Chepstow, on 9th May 1131. It is situated adjacent to the village of Tintern on the Welsh bank of the River Wye. An area of outstanding beauty complemented by this outstanding beauty in stone. Despite the shell of this grand structure being open to the skies, it remains the best-preserved medieval abbey in Wales.
