Venue information
The Norman castle, built of red sandstone, was founded by Roger de Montgomery in c1070. During Summer 1138 King Stephen laid siege and captured the fortress. Apart from the gateway, very little of the Norman building survives.

What to bring
Please bring your own low-backed seating or rugs. Picnics are welcome, however naked flames are not permitted. Sun hats, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoats and rain hats should all be considered.

Wheelchair access
This venue is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility.

There is no parking at this venue. Its city centre location favours the use of public transport but there is also plentiful charged parking within walking distance.

Our performances continue in all but the very worst weather! On very rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance, but we will never cancel a performance before the advertised start time.

Should the performance start and then be called off by the weather, no refund can be issued however if the weather is so bad that the performance cannot even begin, a full refund will be issued.
